The Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) is the Alabama State Department of Education’s (ALSDE) initiative to improve math and science education in Alabama such that all students develop the skills necessary for success in postsecondary studies and in the workforce. AMSTI was designed by a Blue Ribbon committee composed of Grade K‑12 educators, higher education representatives, and business leaders. AMSTI was approved by unanimous vote of the Alabama State Board of Education in 2000.
